Jesse Malin began his music career at the age of 12 as the lead singer of the iconic New York City hardcore band Heart Attack. The band was invited to audition at CBGBs , but were rejected because they could not bring people drinking at the bar. Following the end from Heart Attack in 1984, Jesse took on a number of other projects including the group Hope prior to joining the group D Generation for which he was the singer for the last eight years. D Generation was one of the most well-known groups of the 1990s, D Generation released three albums that were critically acclaimed, including No Lunch, before eventually disbanding in April of 1999.
